Liberty (C) Giants Are Champs

1996 has been good to the Liberty (C) Giants. Not only did they end up in first place during the regular season with a 91-53 record, they were the Continental Baseball League champions. The Giants won the World Series for the 4th time.
A 3-2 triumph over the Park City (F) Kings at Teflon Field brought home the trophy to Liberty (C). They won the series 4-1.

Star SS Duncan Signs for 6 years

The Portsmouth Clippers have finished a deal with All Star-caliber shortstop Tom Duncan that will extend his stay in Portsmouth at least 6 years and will pay out $120,000,000.
So far this season Duncan is batting .326 with 2 home runs.

Younger Hears from Medical Staff

The latest news from the Park City (F) Kings clubhouse is this: second baseman Jeffery Younger is expected to be out of action for another 5 weeks. He has a torn ligament in his thumb, sustained on 09/17/1996. Younger expressed a bit of relief. "At least now I know," he said.
This season Younger is batting .300 with 21 home runs. His totals include 57 RBIs and 88 runs scored.
