Reliever Snags CL Top Hurler Trophy
Wednesday, July 1st, 1981
"The kid had it all working last month," a veteran teammate told reporters. "He keeps up those kind of numbers, we might have to start inviting him out with us after the games."
Myles Brooks put together a very solid month to take home the Colonial League's top pitching honor in June.
The 24-year-old reliever threw like a veteran. In 12 relief appearances he raked in 9 saves and 17 strikeouts in 14 innings as he put together his 0-0 record and 0.64 ERA.
This season Brooks has worked 38.1 innings in 37 relief appearances and picked up 23 saves. He has dished out 46 strikeouts and walked 12 with a 2-2 mark and a 2.11 ERA.
